Ashoka-EDF Climate Corps: Nurturing climate leaders for tomorrow
The Ashoka-Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Fellowship is an innovative fellowship program that trains talented and passionate post-graduate students and recently graduated industry professionals, pairing them with leading organizations to accelerate climate action.
EDF established the Climate Corps fellowship program in 2008 to foster climate leadership by equipping professionals with the connections and skills necessary to drive progress. Over the years, Climate Corps has partnered with more than 650 organizations, including over 40% of Fortune 100 companies. The fellowship in India has been further strengthened through its partnership with Ashoka University.
To date, Climate Corps fellows have identified opportunities to avoid more than 2 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions — the equivalent of removing nearly half a million cars from the road for a year. The program boasts a global alumni network of over 3,500 professionals, with 80% actively working in sustainability roles worldwide.
In India, Climate Corps fellows work on a range of projects that lead to emissions reductions and accelerate action on sustainability goals in sectors such as freight and logistics, food and agriculture, and industrial manufacturing.
